Many people ask me why I choose Ares filesharing software over all of the other variations that are available. The quick and honest answer is that Ares makes it easy to choose it: putting yourself so far ahead of the competition is only likely to have happy consequences.
Great Choice, Great Selection
First up on my list of reasons why Ares floats my boat so very buoyantly is the immense choice of downloads available. Typing in the name of a popular artist into the search facility will result in thousands of potential downloads. Not only does this great selection mean that there is more chance of you finding the songs that you like, but it also means you can choose files served by the faster downloaders, files with more seeders, and higher quality files. All of this adds up to a positive experience every time I fire Ares up.
Then of course there is the variety of material that can now be found on the Ares network. Gone are the days when Ares was suited almost exclusively to small downloads like music or ebooks: now I can download free movies and games just as easily.
It Just Keeps Getting Better
The Ares software has been improving almost continually for the seven years that it has been available. The improvements in software, infrastructure and sometimes just abstract concepts have not all come in the same products (in fact Ares Galaxy, the Father of all Ares implementations has pretty much disappeared down the pan), but nonetheless they have quickly permeated across the Ares range.
Take a well known version such as Ares Vista as an example of a cutting edge member of the Ares Team. Ares Vista was originally developed to address major problems being experienced by Windows Vista owners. Windows Vista’s security system was playing havoc with the p2p filesharing process, making it pretty much impossible to get anything from the network. Aresvista stepped up to the plate and solved the problem. From then the Aresvista developers have shown that they can meet problems head on, quickly address them, and keep the punters happy.
Is Ares Vista The Future?
Who knows what the future brings for filesharing? Governments across the world are starting to look very carefully at the supposed damage that filesharing is doing to big media; it is likely that some proactive action will eventually become a reality. As for Ares Vista? Again, who knows. It took the top spot off another version of Ares, and there is no reason to suggest that another competitor will not come along and usurp Aresvista from the top seat. For now, though, there’s only one application leading the pack. For now, the choice is easy.
